Sarah Laverty, Public Affairs & Campaigns Assistant
Sarah is the Public Affairs and Campaigns Assistant for NUS-USI. She delivers lobbying and influencing strategies on issues affecting students and students’ unions by working with external stakeholders including parliamentarians, government departments and trade unions. She is currently establishing the All Party Group on Students within the NI Assembly.
Sarah graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2014 with a BA in English and Spanish. Prior to working with NUS USI Sarah was the Support Officer for the Information Commissioner’s Office where she provided advice and support for members of the public and organisations on information rights issues. She is a board member for Shelter NI and an activist in the Belfast Feminist Network. Alongside her work with NUS USI Sarah interns with the Centre for Global Education in Belfast.
